"Nothing is too much trouble."

About: Kerang Hospital

(as the patient),

When I first came to Kerang District Health I went to the Inquiries Reception desk for help. The lady I spoke to had a nice smile and was so helpful, nothing was any trouble.

Then I went to see the Theatre Nurse, she was wonderful. When she talked to me, she came down to my level so I could understand about the operation I was having. Even on the day of my op. she made me feel comfortable.

Now all the wonderful nurses who took care of me as a patient, there was nothing they wouldn't do for you and answer any questions you ask them, and they do help with recovery.

Now for all the other staff working that keep this hospital running, the cleaners, the cooks, you know who you are - you have a ready smile when you leave our meals, clean our room and nothing is any trouble. The food was good.

And the gardens at the hospital are kept beautiful it's a credit to them the way they are maintained. It's nice to look out the window to see it and it's relaxing.

I would like to see visiting hours changed. I have family that live on the other side of Melbourne and they cannot make the visiting hours. It would be nice to see them on the weekend and visiting to be open from 11am - 4pm, to help the ones living so far away.

Dear Ready smile,

Thank you for taking the time to write a wonderful story about your visit and stay at our health service. The comments you make provide me with such reassurance that we are giving the caring, respectful, excellent service that we strive for. I will be passing on your message to the various teams that you mentioned, but I know that the staff check this portal fairly often to see what comments people are leaving, so they can keep abreast of people's opinion about the care they are have provided. Our staff really do a fantastic job caring for the community.

I am really intrigued about your final comment about visiting hours. Actually, our policy is that visitors are welcome at any time. I will discuss this further with the senior teams here, to ensure that this is respected at all times, and that family always feel welcome when visiting loved ones, and that patients are reassured that this is the case.

Again, many thanks for your comments.

Kind Regards

Chloe
