"My experience at Lyndon Wattlegrove community."

About: Lyndon Wattlegrove Residential Rehab

(as the patient),

I found myself at the Lyndon community services, both at the detox facility and rehabilitation facility Wattlegrove after my life crumbled around me at home.

After my personal life literally crashed around me after being charged with a DUI and suffering from a critical blood disorder, stroke and subsequent brain surgery. The following media attention including an ever-present media scrum outside my family home, my neighbours and my workplace saw a huge spike in my anxiety and to cope I turned to alcohol; a temporary fix which quickly grew into an alcohol dependence.

I needed to get away and deal with my dependence on alcohol and away from my issues in my home city. I was faced with a very hard decision to make, but ultimately it is the best decision I have ever made. Wattlegrove and the experience it provided for me was a lifeline for myself and my family. The people I met there including both residents and staff became my family away from home and were always there to support me.

I manage the process of writing reports for the organisation's funding bodies, administer the client data system and prepare and analyse client data for reporting purposes.

Hi Ballerina200676,

Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback on your time at Wattlegrove. I will pass this message on to the Wattlegrove team.

It sounds as though you have experienced some great personal hardships. I am glad to hear that the Lyndon Withdrawal Unit and Wattlegrove teams were able to assist you in these early stages of recovery.

If you find you need some ongoing support, or just need to have a chat to staff, please feel free to call the team on 1300 727 957.

Best of luck

Joshua Snowdon
