I've started dialysis and have been having a really bad run. Apart from extreme coldness, I've had the line blow (very painful and has left severe bruising)
Another line came out.
I couldn't eat or drink till I finished (I almost always eat at 17:00, due to reflux problem) so that caused trouble.
Nurses told me they didn't need ultrasounds for the needling (the line went in much easier and with less pain when it was used)
Food offered to me was all not suitable due to food intolerances.
And some beds gave me a high level of pain and uncomfortableness.
TVs don't work (stuck looking around to pass time by).
So I've been seriously looking into stopping dialysis completely.
Yesterday, I had a fantastic nurse (Kat) who addressed several problems from past visits, including pain, food, TV, and best of all..... she asked a more experienced nurse (Ping) to use ultrasound when needling.
The line went in easily and with little pain.
I wish all sessions could go as smoothly as this last one.
