It took 6 nurses and 2 senior doctors, so 8 attempts over 4 hours and about 10-12 catheters of different sizes before a guided wire procedure was undertaken. I believe it was a barbaric experience to say the least. Very humiliating.
It left me with 6 weeks of severe inflammation of the pelvic region due to pressure exerted on me while I was frog legged for that time.
I’ve had additional expense of many physio visits, taxi fares and home care services I would otherwise not have had.
I’m angry and want to know why the guided wire procedure was not done after the third failed placement attempt.
It may also have dislodged my hernia repair which was done the day before, it’s too soon to tell, but first the catheter procedure complaint please?
