"Carers Group meetings very helpful"

About: Bass Coast Health

(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

When I was having to get up and assist my husband many times during the nights it was most beneficial being able to talk to people in the same situation. It's has been something to look forward to, having outings each month for both of us. I don't see a need for anything to change as it is very helpful having the Carers Group meetings each month and enjoying a meal and a chat together.

Being a carer for someone you love can be very rewarding and fulfilling but it can also be challenging and demanding. The most important thing a carer can do, is to also look after themselves, so they can look after the person they are caring for. Carers groups are a great way to share experiences, share helpful learnings, and take some time for yourself - so good on you for doing that and it's our absolute pleasure to provide this support! Don't hesitate to stay in touch and talk to us if you need more support at any time.

Kind Regards,

Jan
