One of our team members who works in rostering, telephones one of our clients  every day to ensure she is okay and to ensure her Care Worker has arrived. A relationship developed and our team member asked if she can meet the client because her attitude is inspiring and witty and a close bond was forming.

As Christmas was fast approaching and the client was quite ill, the Co. As. It. team created an opportunity to visit to wish her a Merry Christmas, present her with a gift and a Christmas card signed by the whole team,
The visit was made possible by the Co. As. It. Marketing Officer to highlight the difference between personal contact by a caring individual versus technology that is currently being used by some providers. In effect the motivation is the same - check if the client is okay and feedback results to client's family.
The sad thing is the technology that is available checks in on the client, but there is no one for the client to speak to .... it is simply an automated phone calling system. The difference with Co. As. It. is that relationship are encouraged and until the clients' last days, we offer them the dignity to be the voice on the other end of the line.
