I initially called 000 in which I talked to a lovely person who got all my details and what happened, then told they wouldn't issue an ambulance, to talk to a nurse first. So I talked to the nurse and repeated everything, to then be told, yes you need the emergency department, to then be put back to 000 and repeat everything again.
When the ambulance got there they checked it over and took me to emergency. I was sitting in a chair with no ice pack or sling and waiting half an hour to then be sent out to the waiting room to be put at the bottom of the list like I had just walked in there and hadn't been put into the system when I first arrived, going into the system at about 11pm.
While talking to the triage nurse, I found her to be rude and insensitive asking me about my next of kin and literally telling me - you know they make life and death decisions, don't you want a family member? In which I replied, no.
I then waited an hour to get into triage in which I was literally put in a room and felt disregarded for the following 2 hours.
I have a condition called dissociative amnesia in combination with complex-post traumatic stress disorder. Dissociative amnesia puts me in an unconscious like state at times, however often results in screaming and significant amounts of thrashing without me being aware. I had one of these episodes and nobody seemed to noticed.
Furthermore, it was freezing and there was no offer of a blanket, when requesting one. I believe was ignored and then ended up getting one from the cleaner.
Around 3am the doctor came in and said I should've been given more ibuprofen because the one I had taken at home had worn off, and was surprised I hadn't been sent for my x-ray yet. I proceeded to wait again before asking the admissions nurse about my x-ray, as the doctor seemed to have not followed up on either the pain meds or the x-ray.
Around 3:30am I had gotten my x-ray and the senior doctor checked on me (she was nice) and then the junior doctor told me, it's just a bad sprain, gave me a sheet of paper and sent me home.
