My elderly husband had surgery and iv antibiotics for 4 days after degloving his forearm in a fall. The wound was left open due to debris concerns. Due to his vertigo and instability on his feet, Occ Health were going to keep him in but was then discharged. We were given no wound plan. Dressings given were incomplete. His dressing had half the wound exposed, and during the walk journey from the 6H all the way to the car out the front of RPH resulted in 3 severe stumbles that could have been disastrous. We felt very dismissed.
"Discharge was fraught"
