"Kerang Hospital and Medical Clinic"

About: Kerang Hospital Kerang Medical Clinic

(as a service user),

Dr Harpreet has been treating my cancer and he’s such a fantastic doctor that I followed him to Kerang. The Kerang Clinic seems quite good, the nurses are very lovely and go out of there way to make you comfortable and some of the other doctors are also very nice. I was concerned about another doctor who was starting there they seemed quite nasty, but that doesn’t affect my overall experience at the clinic. I do miss the trainee that used to work there, she was always good for a laugh and would cheer me up when I was having a bad day. Most of the receptionists aren’t as friendly one particular one, but they still do a good job.

All in all, I am very happy with Kerang Medical Clinic. I am also very impressed with Kerang Hospital, it is surprisingly quite nice and the nursing staff work very hard and very fast to treat you. The food is quite good most of the time, but not the goulash.

Dear hawkkq99,

Your story is very interesting because I gather that you have followed your GP to his current location. This is a wonderful compliment you pay to him that you would make this commitment to continuing under his care by following him to another location. I will be sure to let him know of your high praise. I believe you pay him a huge compliment by going out of your way to be treated by him.

I am very interested in your comments about the impact of Medical Clinic receptionists on your moods, and in particular that you found so much comfort in one who can make you laugh or cheer you up. I have helped out at reception in the clinic for very short periods of time and I fully take my hat off to these staff. You will notice that we have some new faces at the clinic, two new staff who are doing maternity relief positions, and one has returned from maternity leave. I know the receptionists are working on their multiskilling ability, to answer the phone, check patients in for appointments, bill other patients and smile and direct you to your seats, so they will be interested in your feedback. I also know that they will see how important their role is in making unwell people sometimes feel a little better by their manner. Thanks for pointing this out in your story, and for saying that they do a good job. I totally agree- they are gold, and it is a busy job they do.

I am very interested about the goulash at the hospital, and will make sure that the Head Chef sees your comments. I know that the menu is reviewed by a dietitian and is designed to meet all tastes, and there are always some choices for each meal. Why was the hospital surprisingly "quite nice"?

I would love to know of ways that you think we could keep the human element of the reception role, as well as the efficiency. Have you got any suggestions for us?

Thank you for taking the time to write your story.

Kind Regards

Chloe
