"Broome A&E staff"

About: Broome Health Campus / Emergency Department

(as a parent/guardian),

Recently my young daughter fell over and re-opened a wound that had been stitched in Perth 4 weeks earlier. I rushed her down to our local A&E at Broome Hospital. The young nurse on the front counter was so kind and caring, making sure that my daughter was comfortable. We didn't have to wait long until we were called in by the doctor. My daughter has a really bad needle phobia. Both the nurse and doctor went out of there way to make sure that she was calm and comfortable so that they could re-stitch her wound. 20 stitches later and we were on our way home. Both the nurse and doctor were incredible and made a really hard situation for my daughter into one where she was calm and happy. I can't thank them enough.

Dear decemberjf35,

Thank you for taking the time to provide the Broome Hospital Emergency Department staff with your positive feedback.

I am glad that your daughter was able to feel comfortable in this situation as a result of our staff making the effort to put her at ease during what would have been a stressful experience for a small child.

Thank you for your kindness in thanking the ED staff. It is always such a pleasure for staff to be acknowledged - not only for their technical skills, but also for their care and compassion. This is the kind of clinician that we want caring for our community, and I am proud to see our wonderful nurses and doctors being acknowledged for this.

Kind regards

Sue
