"Thanks to all the staff at Wonthaggi Hospital for excellent care"

About: Wonthaggi Hospital / Armitage House Wonthaggi Hospital / Emergency Department

(as a carer),

A big thank you to all the staff at Wonthaggi Hospital who looked after my elderly mother. Not only were they efficient and helpful, but also kind, friendly and very caring. She was bought by ambulance to the Emergency Department, admitted to the Medical Ward and finally Armitage Rehab (twice around!)

Dr Sky was fantastic, providing continuity and overseeing her treatment the whole time, as well as liaising with her family during her 3 week stay. The other doctors, all the nursing staff, Social Worker (Jill), Physiotherapists, OT's, transport guys, and even the cook and tea and meal ladies were all wonderful as well (sorry I can't remember everyone's names). They made my mother's stay, instead of clinical and frightening, actually quite pleasant. She is very grateful for the care she received and her family is happy that she recovered so well. Well done Wonthaggi Hospital! Perhaps not the biggest but you have the best most caring staff!

Dear Islander,

Thank you so much for taking the time to provide us with this lovely feedback. We are certainly not the biggest, nor are we the flashest, but I agree we have some of the best staff that I have ever had the pleasure to work with. I am pleased that your mother's stay was helpful for her - hospitals can be a really daunting experience, in particular for older people, and it's great that she has recovered so well. I will make sure I pass on your feedback to the staff and I know they will be very chuffed.

Kind Regards,

Jan
