We had our mother transferred here from Dandenong Hospital. It was such a welcome relief to have her admitted to a place where she was given the care she needed during her decline from liver cancer. After having doctors & social workers not show up for scheduled meetings with us at the hospital. We were offered little to no information or guidance on how to manage her care. We were left exasperated at the lack of empathy our mother was given at all the medical centres she attended, from her GP and Dandenong Hospital. Not admitting her as an inpatient even though she couldn't eat or walk, leaving her in the care of med students who didn't understand she was in her final weeks of life. It was frustrating and distressing. However when we arrived at Wantirna Health, the nurses and medical staff were so caring and compassionate with Mum and provided us candid and truthful information. I can't thank them all enough for the effort they put in to make the experience as pain free as possible, and as stress free as possible for the family. I would highly recommend this care unit. Thank you to all the staff at Wantirna Health.
