Insanely long line to check in to a scheduled appointment. We arrived 20min ahead of time- and it took 25 minutes to check in. While you’re waiting you can read the sign saying please don’t check in more than 30min ahead of time- but frankly, that’s the only way to guarantee making your appointment. 

This stuff matters. In my opinion, if the hospital is so disdainful of patients’ time, it suggests the attention to clinical matters is pretty slack too. I believe the clinic should examine their scheduling processes- and include waiting times in overall quality metrics. It’s not rocket science - and I believe absolutely affects patients’ health.

Thank you for taking the time to provide us feedback in relation to your last Hand Clinic visit. I am very sorry to hear of your experience with the check in process and long wait times. The current clinic times and processes in no way reflect the staff’s standard of care or respect for our patients. The Hand Service is a highly specialist area of care and the volume of patients seeking this advice is very high. This at times leads to large clinics, resulting in extended waits and we do apologise this occurred on your visit. Your feedback is valuable, it has been discussed with the clinic manager and will feed into our planning as we look at how to streamline the appointment process.
