"Kalbarri Health Centre"

About: Kalbarri Health Centre / Emergency Department

(as the patient),

I presented at the Kalbarri Health centre after I had experienced Chest pains.

I was greeted at the door by a PCA named Robbie, whom ushered me straight into a room where I was followed by a nurse named Mel.

Mel was absolutely lovely. So calming. I was hooked up in no time by a nurse named Nat and had blood tests done pretty quickly. I was then put onto the (Emergency Telehealth Service) ETS doctor. He spoke to me about the situation and strongly suggested I went to Geraldton.

I must say I was very reluctant to go. Mel was really good and explained why and what would happen and scenarios. If it wasn't for her, I probably would not have gone.

Thanks Mel and Nat, both nurses and the PCA  Robbie were run off their feet that day.

They were all incredibly professional, courteous and caring.

All a credit to the health centre.

Thank you.

Dear marsgz58

Thank you for sharing your positive story on Patient Opinion, it is always great to hear when our teams do something well. I was so pleased to hear that you received professional, compassionate, respectful person-centred care and it is through stories like yours, we certainly get a sense of the great care being provided by our staff. I will take great pride and delight in passing on your lovely compliment and acknowledgement to our very committed front line team with a special mention to Robbie, Nat and Mel.

The ETS you mention is the Emergency Telehealth Service which is a wonderful service that uses video conferencing equipment to connect local doctors and nurses with highly trained, emergency medicine specialists. The emergency medicine specialist is linked via video conference, providing guidance to the local treating team. A consultation with an ETS doctor is just like any other ‘in person’ consultation and allows us to provide high-quality specialist care close to home.

Thanks again for taking the time to share your kind words. Patient Opinion allows us an opportunity to strengthen the partnership we have with our service users by allowing patients, families and carers the chance to share their personal stories and it really does keep myself and our organisation closely connected with what matters most to our health service users.

I hope you have recovered well and wish you all the best.

Kind regards
Michele
