"Logan House Residential Rehabilitation Facility"

About: Logan House Aftercare Logan House Residential Rehabilitation Facility

(as the patient),

When I came to Logan House I was broken lost and suffering from psychosis, anxiety and my mental health was at a state of suicide after extreme 22 years+ any drug use, life threatening domestic violence all those years, absolutely no hope, love or will left. I had lost contact with some of my children fighting with child safety over my children and was losing a child deep into the drug world.

Since coming here I have had restoration in my life, my child is off drugs, I speak to all my children and have the healthiest relationships with all my children. When I got here I had pending court case that definitely had a jail term attached to it, Logan House has restored my life, my family, my sanity. I have found hope, I've found a family in Logan House. I was once lost but now I'm found, I have somewhere to go to, that's Logan House, my new and forever family.

While the organisation has provided individualised support and the space to spiritually and emotionally grow, there needs to be more support around housing opportunities post care and more court support.

Hello Julietws33

Thank you for sharing your story with us. You have been on a long journey and it is great to see your hope has been restored.

The many aspects of your journey that you have lived with and are now changing speak of your courage and determination to live another way. I am glad that through Lives Lived Well and Logan House you found the support you needed to make so many changes, especially with family relationships.

Thank you too, for the improvements you have suggested. Lives Lived Well is aware of the need to improve the supports available in the areas you mentioned. In the area of court support Lives Lived Well have a very strong partnership with the Queensland Drug and Alcohol Court and are working towards a case management model which provides holistic support to people in our services.

This holistic support is also being expanded to post care housing support. Lives Lived Well is committed to working with the Department of Housing to find better ways to enable people to access appropriate accommodation as they move on from our services.

Thank you again for your story and comments. I wish you all the best in your onward journey in life.

Warm regards

Gerard
