"Bad experience during ultrasound at private hospital"

About: Box Hill Hospital / Medical Imaging Mitcham Private Hospital / Maternity

(as the patient),

I was sent to Mitcham Private Hospital for a pregnancy related scan. I am managed within the High Risk Clinic and was nervous about attending another place for this ultrasound.

My appointment at Mitcham Private Hospital was extremely unpleasant due to the sonographer's attitude and non professional manner.

I left my appointment in tears and extremely worried about the development of my unborn baby due to the comments that the sonographer made to myself and my spouse.

Box Hill Hospital should accommodate all High Risk patients at the hospital and not send them to other clinics.

It has taken me quite some time to process this horrifying experience and having future scans still make me feel anxious.

I would like to see if there is some help we can provide to minimise your anxiety when undergoing future scans. If you would like to follow up directly I would encourage you to contact one of our Patient Relations Advisors at the Centre for Patient Experience on 1800Eastern or email on feedback@easternhealth.org.au. If you do call please be aware that you may need to leave a message if the Patient Relations Advisors are on another call. Alternatively you could discuss your concerns with the staff at your next appointment. Can I also encourage you to provide your feedback to Mitcham Private Hospital directly as I am sure they will also be concerned.
