"Fantastic birth experience at Angliss Hospital"

About: Angliss Hospital / Maternity

(as the patient),

I would like to start by saying being my first pregnancy I was very scared of the unknown about giving birth. From the day I got to the Angliss Hospital I was given a room with my spouse on our own in a birthing suite. I was told I was going to be induced and was a little worried about my body responding, I had plenty of midwives checking and then finally the time came to be induced. I had a midwife called George who was going to take me through most of my labour which in fact ended up being nearly my whole labour. I was hesitant at first as I thought I would feel more comfortable with a lady but George was brilliant and I couldn't have asked for better attention or care he made sure my baby was safe at all times and if he felt my baby wasn't he kept intervening. Big thank you to George absolutely amazing and needs to be recognised for his work.

I was then moved to another room once I had my baby with two beds and was told my spouse couldn't stay, I was a bit worried about this and didn't want to share a room as a first time mum. The room only ever had me in the room and they never put anyone else which made me feel very comfortable. I had plenty of midwives but the stand out midwives for me were Kristy, Leanne and a midwife that I didn't quite catch her name with the initial Z. I think these midwives need to be recognised as well for there work. As they went over and beyond and I really appreciated it.

The doctors and team that delivered my baby in an emergency c-section I couldn't have asked for a better team of people in that room and so supportive. Overall my experience at the Angliss Hospital, although my pregnancy didn't turn out like I expected, was fantastic. I really couldn't fault my experience and I definitely will be back there to have my next baby! Thank you so much everyone you do an amazing job. All I can say to anyone in my situation listen to the experts and go with the flow even if it's not what you had in mind, best outcome is baby and mum's safety.
