"Being an inpatient at St George Hospital"

About: St George Hospital / 7A Oncology

(as the patient),

I would like to record my very good impression of staff across the board while I was a patient in ward 7A for two weeks. Nurses, doctors and orderlies, food workers etc were all pleasant and conscientious, leading me to the conclusion that the place is very well managed.

However, the state of the lifts while I was there - only one out of four public lifts and I think two out of four service lifts - is strikingly inadequate in my opinion. I feel that part is very poorly managed.

Dear omegawd57,

Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback. I was very pleased to read your kind words regarding the care provided to you by the staff at St George Hospital. We are fortunate to have caring and dedicated staff working within our hospital. Whilst no thanks is expected, I am sure that the staff involved will be grateful to hear of kind acknowledgement you have given them.

I apologise for the problems with the lifts, it is vital we have functioning lifts for our patients, staff and visitors. We have recognised this problem and the lift company have been assisting however we were waiting on parts. The company are actually on site repairing the lifts today. I apologise for the inconvenience this caused.

Thanks again for taking the time to provide your feedback as it helps us to improve the services we provide and to celebrate what we do well.

Kind regards
