I was referred to Kalgoorlie Hospital by my GP after it was confirmed I had miscarried and needed surgery. The communication from both my GP and the hospital were poor - at one point I had to ring up the hospital myself to find out when I was scheduled for admission as no one had called to advise - something you really feel like doing after experiencing a loss.
I found the surgeon to be abrupt and didn’t receive any information after my surgery when I was in recovery - just ‘see your GP in 4 weeks’. No feedback about the surgery, what I should do next, things I should look out for, nothing.
I felt like I was basically treated like I was having an ingrown toenail removed. In comparison to treatment I’ve received in Perth for the same, it’s complete night and day.
"A miscarriage should never be treated like an ingrown toenail!"
