I came in for day surgery recently. The moment that I arrived, I was blessed to have Carol as my nurse. She was so kind, thorough, friendly, empathetic and knowledgeable. I instantly felt comfortable and at ease.
Going into surgery I had another nurse (can't remember her name sorry), this nurse, too, was so incredibly kind, funny and comforting. The other nurses that spoke to me briefly were beautiful. Dr Colin and Dr Rick were so lovely and told me exactly what was going to happen.
When I woke up, Carol was there to take care of me again. The nurse that took me into surgery gave me my phone so that I could contact my loved ones - so thoughtful. I didn't wake up real well and Carol was so patient and attentive. I honestly felt like I had a friend taking care of me. Carol stayed past her shift time, handed me over to Anne and Alisha (I hope I have their names correct, I was pretty out of it) where I received more kind treatment. Alisha was talking with my husband and holding my hand, that's the beautiful kind of people that Wonthaggi Hospital employ. Surgery isn't usually a great experience but I can honestly say that regardless of the amount of pain I'm in, my day at Bass Coast Health was a really lovely experience. I can't express how truly gorgeous these people are. Thank you for having such a wonderful team to take care of the public.
"Amazing care from staff"
