About: Maroondah Hospital

(as the patient),

I underwent a day procedure at Maroondah Hospital recently. I was extremely nervous about the procedure as I had not had an operation of any kind previously. 

Every single nurse, doctor and support staff member treated me with respect and kindness throughout my experience. It was immensely helpful to be able to have conversations to get a clear understanding of what was going to happen and discuss any concerns I had. I found that I was met without judgment and given support.

The quality of the care I received was also of excellent quality. My scarring is minimal and it is clear that care has been taken with me throughout the process of before, during and after the procedure. I am very grateful.

As youve mentioned, these can be very stressful expereinces and I am so proud of the staff and how they live the Eastern Health values of Patients First, Kindness, Respect, Excellence, Agility and Humility. Its clear from your comments these values were alive and well by all staff involved in your care.

I am so pleased your first experience was so positive and this is now your memory for any future care you might need. I trust you continue to recover well and resume your normal activities as soon as you can.
