"Sick baby"

About: Sale Hospital / Emergency Department Sale Hospital / Women's and Children's

(as a parent/guardian),

My newborn baby developed a cold and started breathing heavily. I attended the Emergency Department recently and was seen by a doctor who gave me some strategies to help my baby. Unfortunately my baby got worse so I took them back to Emergency the following day. I was immediately seen by medical staff and very quickly was admitted to the women’s and children’s ward with my baby.

We were inpatients for a week and during that week we received exceptional care from the nurses, doctors and ward staff. Special thanks to Dr Saba, Lorraine and Caitlin. All the nurses were amazing, caring and supportive. Lorraine looked after us two nights and during those nights my baby had become more unwell. Lorraine was calming, friendly, efficient and knowledgeable. At all times I felt supported and safe with Lorraine.

Caitlin again provided exceptional care including helping me bathe my baby while my baby was hooked up to a number of machines.

A huge thank you to Dr Saba, he was called numerous times outside of his shift times for my baby and he was amazing. Very attentive, caring and explained our options at each stage.

My baby has now recovered fully so I would like to say thank you.
