I arrived at the hospital during the early morning recently. I had excruciating hip pain and abdominal pain. I instantly told them I was worried about my baby as I was in the early stages of pregnancy through IVF. It seemed like they had no concern about the baby and told me they'd do an ultrasound on my hip and I had to ask repeatedly for an abdominal ultrasound to make sure bub was okay. They sent me home with Panadol after giving me pain killers through the drip.
Four hours later I was back in the Emergency Department. This time screaming in agony. They initially thought I had ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS), it took them at least 5 times to try and get a cannula in to give me some pain relief. After about 45 minutes it had to be done through ultrasound on my arm. Hours later I got that abdominal ultrasound. Turned out I was bleeding internally and my baby was nowhere to be seen. I had a ruptured ectopic. I lost 1.5-2 litres of blood internally and I got rushed into surgery shortly after the ultrasound.
I believe due to the initial doctor's negligence and how delayed they were when I was in excruciating pain the second time is the cause of the outcome. I've now lost my tube which is understandable with an ectopic but the recovery from the blood loss and the trauma hasn't been easy.
I feel that Armadale Hospital doctors need to be investigated. It seems like they generally don't care. In my opinion they are negligent and almost killed me.
