Our toddler became very unwell very suddenly one morning recently. I brought them to Northam Emergency Department (ED), where staff immediately recognised how unwell they were. We were brought straight into the ED, where they got immediate care from a doctor and four nurses. While they were providing my toddler excellent treatment, they were also communicating very clearly with us about what was happening. Once our child was stabilised, staff discussed the plan for their ongoing treatment with us, and made sure that we were happy with the plan. Our toddler was transferred to Perth Children's Hospital, where they were diagnosed with Influenza B.
We cannot thank the staff at Northam ED enough - it's no exaggeration to say that they saved our toddler's life. We would like to thank the Nurses Bronwyn, Sue, Sally and student Chloe, and the doctors Jaz, Gav, Anna and Sam.
"Great care of our very sick toddler"
