"Radiation oncology follow up"

About: Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital

(as a carer),

I want to thank the Radiation Oncology team at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital (SCGH) for their wonderful care of my spouse. From the first meeting with the consultant, the team has delivered a consistently high level of treatment and care. At each stage, my spouse has been given the opportunity they need to ask questions and understand their care so that they can cooperate as an active participant, both  in the treatment process and the recovery journey afterwards.

The positive rapport that my spouse's main consultant built in that first meeting has been followed up by a handful of positive interactions with registrars who seem to have been inducted into the same positive care culture.

The nursing, radiotherapy, dietetics and speech therapy staff helped maintain  positive morale throughout my spouse's gruelling treatment, and provided timely information, clinical observations, treatment guidance and follow-up. The treatment successfully eradicated my spouse's tumour, for which we are unspeakably grateful. Their approach to treatment exemplifies everything I could hope for from a health service - compassionate, patient-centred care coupled with a high level of skill and expertise. Thank you.

Dear what about the patient,

Thank you for taking the time to share your appreciation of the staff involved in the care of your spouse during their time as a patient at of the Radiation Oncology team. We aim to treat all patients with kindness, respect and dignity and your feedback is valued by us all.

I will share your thanks with the Medical, Nursing and Allied Health Teams involved in the Radiation Oncology service to let them know how much their care was appreciated during your spouses journey through the health service..

It is pleasing to hear that the care and compassion demonstrated by the staff has helped traverse what must have been a difficult time and that the outcome has been a positive one.

Once again my thanks for providing such positive feedback about the teams here at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital.
