"My rehabilitation journey"

About: Cabrini Hospital - Malvern Wonthaggi Hospital / Armitage House

(as the patient),

I developed the illness Guillain–Barré a few years ago so was in hospital and rehabilitation for six and a half months at Cabrini Malvern.

I was in a wheelchair for over a year and could barely wiggle my toes. Eventually I was transferred to Armitage House in Wonthaggi where I met up with the physio. They persevered with me so I eventually learnt to walk with a walker. I still have a long way to go with balance problems and my legs are still very heavy and hope to walk on my own, but wanted to say thank you.

Dear vgbee,

Wow - what a long and arduous few years you have had. And then in the midst of your journey you take the time to thank our team at Wonthaggi - how amazing that you have done that - thank you! I know the staff will be really chuffed. I hope that we can continue to support you on your journey - I wish you all the very best.

Kind Regards,

Jan.
