"Multilevel laminectomy at Epworth Richmond"

About: Epworth Richmond

(as the patient),

After surgery for my back, my treatment from all the staff on Lee 4 and from Bethesda 2 for rehab was great. Not one complaint about the nursing staff to Allied Health, cleaners and transport. Food was excellent.

My only concern was when removing my arterial line in recovery, I only had a couple of minutes of direct pressure, then a pressure dressing applied. This resulted in extensive bruising from my thumb to my elbow. The positive thing about this event is that it will provide great education (pictures) for nurses at my own hospital why it is important to apply direct pressure for 5 minutes and not to cover arterial line sites with an occlusive dressing.

Otherwise a very positive hospital stay.
