"Great education in Child Development Service"

About: Geraldton Hospital Midwest Health

(as a parent/guardian),

Recently my spouse and I attended an education session at the Geraldton Hospital Child Development Service on Sensory Processing. Our child will be attending a program with the Occupational Theraptists.

Rachel and Danika provided some wonderful and informative education on understanding and applying strategies to assist with managing my child's behaviors, making us feel empowered to be able to help them rather than be frustrated and helpless.  Thank you so much.

Dear grusqg64

Thank you for taking the time to share your positive feedback on the Child Development Service team and the education session you and your spouse attended on Sensory Processing at the Geraldton Hospital. It was wonderful to read that you found the session informative and that the team were able to provide you with strategies to assist you and your family.

The Sensory Processing workshop aims to teach parents about the way their child processes sensory information and strategies they can employ to help their child manage their attention, concentration and regulation.

There is also the ALERT program which runs for 6 weeks and is designed to investigate the senses and how these can be used to help children to manage their attention and concentration, both at school in the classroom and at home.

Thanks again for taking the time to share your kind words, I have forwarded your feedback on to Rachel and Danika.

I wish you and your family all the very best for the future.

Kind regards

Michele
