About: Sale Hospital / Emergency Department Sale Hospital / Women's and Children's

(as the patient),

I presented to the Emergency Department (ED) at Sale Hospital recently with abdominal pain. I feared I was suffering from appendicitis, I was right!

I was then admitted to the Women's and Children's ward where I stayed for the next three nights. I would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every staff member who I came into contact with throughout my stay. From cleaning staff to ED staff, to hospital co-ordinators to surgeons, to student nurses to Nurse Unit Managers. I was treated so kindly and so professionally and it truly made my stay and recovery so much more pleasant.

The staff on the Women's and Children's ward deserve recognition for the care, professionalism, and attention to patient-centred care that was shown to me through a difficult time. I can't thank them all enough for making myself and my many visitors welcomed and cared for.

Well done and thank you to all.

Thank you for taking time to give feedback on your recent experience as an inpatient on the Women’s and Children’s Unit.

As the Unit Manager of Women’s and Children Unit it is heartening to know that our unit staff and the wider team at Central Gippsland Health (CGH) were able to provide, what you have expressed in your letter as ‘professional and patient centred care. CGH place a high value in the provision of excellence of care, where patients are at the centre and as a team, we strive to provide such care.
