"Smart nurses saved my life"

About: Kerang District Health

(as the patient),

I recently called District Nursing with an ongoing problem with my legs. After speaking with the nurse, they realised I was not speaking properly so they came straight away to me and organised for me to go to the doctors.

When the doctor saw me, he knew there was something wrong and called an ambulance. This all took place on a Friday and by Sunday, the nursing staff realised that they could not handle what was wrong with me so had enough experience to transfer me to a hospital and this is what saved my life. I spent a week in ICU in that hospital.

I would like to thank all the people involved in looking after me throughout the whole business of keeping me alive. A very big thank you!

Dear telescopiumgz64,

Thankyou for telling your story, it is really wonderful to know that you felt supported and cared for even while your condition deteriorated.

Our hospital staff ( which also includes the district nursing staff) will be delighted to know how much you appreciated their care, and as Sue said in the message above, the District Nurses are available to help you in the recovery phase at home.

Kind Regards

Chloe
