"Amazing Service at Broome Hospital"

About: Broome Health Campus / Allied Health

(as a parent/guardian),

Since the birth of my child earlier this year, Broome Allied Health have been absolutely incredible from helping with referrals to getting a diagnosis and ongoing support from Physio, Speech and Occupational Therapy.

Broome is a transitional town so staff do come and go but they have always made sure a detailed handover is complete, we have never received a gap in treatment because of this.

Joan and Joline went above and beyond to help me with my NDIS transfer. We had a meeting to go through what I needed to do at my planning meeting which was an incredible help and wouldn't have been able to do this without their help.

We are lucky that we can still use Physio at Broome Allied health even though we have transferred over to NDIS this has been such an amazing help and we are lucky enough to be treated by Annie who is an amazing physio. She is always available for support and advice and making sure my child is always receiving the best care. From appointments at home, school or the local park.

Dear earthdm95,

Thank you for taking the time to share your positive feedback on Patient Opinion.

Firstly, congratulations on the birth of your child earlier this year. It is fantastic to hear that the Broome Allied Health team were able to assist you in navigating, initially what can be a daunting and potentially lengthy process of getting a diagnosis for your child, and then the subsequent transition to NDIS.

We do work really hard to retain skilled staff in the region, but it is also great to hear that even with the inevitable staff turnover, appropriate handover has taken place and the care of your child has not been impacted.

I will ensure that this feedback is shared amongst the Broome allied health staff, in particular, Annie (PT), Joan (OT) and Joline (SP) and the wider Broome Hospital team via Wendy McKinley (Broome Hospital Operations Manager) as stories like these really do boost morale in a Health Service.

Kind regards,

Chris Hart
