"Very bad service"

I recently attended the Emergency Department with chest pain. It was an hour before someone did an ECG, and after two hours with no contact we left. That night, my pain got worse so I was transported by ambulance and arrived late evening. I was left to wait until early morning, moved in to see a doctor, then waited a further two hours before the doctor actually came!

After repeatedly saying where the pain was, I was sent to the short stay ward, where several tests were done on my stomach area. Later that night I was transferred to another ward. The next morning, a doctor came in and proceeded to ask where the pain was. I told them it had subsided a little, and they said if it does not get worse I could go home that afternoon. The doctor came back in the afternoon and said I had been admitted under “abdominal pain”. Not once did I complain of abdominal pain!

They sent someone from medical to see me, but I felt that was useless as the pain had not got any worse, I decided to just go home as the doctor had suggested. The doctor never came back to see me, just sent an intern with a form to sign, saying the hospital was not at risk that I was leaving. Hello! It was the doctor's suggestion! I am disgusted with what little care I received – not once was I X-Rayed or scanned on my breast or back, where the pain was coming from!
