Big thanks to Louise, the Nurse Co-ordinator, on Ward A1 B for showing understanding, compassion and empathy during my parent's current hospitalisation. Anyone can tick boxes and be rigid about "rules" but it takes a special person to think outside the box. Caring goes a loooooong way when family members are stressed about their relative.
Kelyl and Jade on Ward A1 B treated my parent with great care. They also listened to me and acted upon my requests. They seemed grateful for my input as I have known my parent longer than they have and have been greatly involved in their treatment plans for over 10 years. They made me feel like I mattered, that I was part of the team and that we were partners in making sure my parent had quality input. I feel they are a shining example of how to nurse and care and how to uphold the Quality Standards.
My parent's Gerontologist, Kevin, listens, cares, has extensive knowledge and is humble enough to take input from family members. He also works holistically and makes contact with our GP and pain specialist to ensure that everything possible is done for my parent. Kevin is super-respectful. Thanks from all of our family.
Finally, Michael knows our family well...and cares. He is super knowledgeable and is willing and humble enough to listen to input from family members. He goes the extra mile, acts in a holistic manner and in doing so provides an integrated care working with family, our GP and gerontologist so that my parent receives the best possible care and comfort.Thank you from the bottom of our family's collective heart for being who you are.
