"Bleeding"

About: Box Hill Hospital

(as the patient),

It’s been over a week and the doctors can not tell me what is wrong. Only blood tests have been run and no other tests. I feel the doctors spend more time guessing what is wrong. They forget to give medication. It seems that they don’t communicate with each other as most of them have no idea when asked a question.

Dear caelumty45,

Thank you for taking the time to share these concerns regarding your care. I am sorry this has been your experience to date.

It sounds to me that you may be a current inpatient at Box Hill Hospital. If this is the case, could I please encourage you to ask to speak with the Consultant under whose care you are admitted, or the Nurse Unit Manager of the ward you are in. Alternatively, please contact me privately by emailing david.plunkett@easternhealth.org.au

If you are not currently an inpatient, then could I suggest making contact one of our Patient Relations Advisors in the Eastern Health Centre for Patient Experience either by calling 1800 EASTERN or by emailing feedback@easternhealth.org.au. If you choose to call please be aware that it is possible that the Patient Relations Advisors may be on another call at the time you ring and if so you will be invited to leave a message so they can return your call.

I hope we can collectively better understand what is happening and that we can improve the communication and information you have.

Kind regards and best wishes

David
