My spouse had a Subarachnoid Hemorrhage (SAH) three years ago. Prompt response by St John's Ambulance of Port Hedland who provided the initial care and took my spouse to Hedland Health Campus (HHC) Emergency Department (ED).
Valerie and Alex were the nurses on duty at HHC ED that night and Mary was the after-hours nurse manager. She commanded everything and made things happen. They were amazing. ED doctor, Kyle, who was on locum shift, attended to my spouse. He was the perfect doctor, and I believe this is his nature. My spouse had a coma score of 3 and had an extremely poor chance of surviving. Kyle insisted on transferring my spouse to SCGH because he could still see one of their pupils react to light.
My spouse was flown to Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital (SCGH) and admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). There, ICU nurses Deb, Anna, Bree, Ange, Rowena, Raquel, and Leonie, took shifts in caring for my spouse. I believe that if not for these super nurses, my spouse wouldn't have survived. My spouse woke up and fought their ventilator after 2 days, so staff had to take them off breathing support. My spouse went through rehab and after 4 weeks total was able to discharge home. They have no functional limitations and went back to their work as a nurse in less than 2 months after the incident.
My whole family expresses lifetime thanks to these amazing professionals.
"Excellent care and professionalism"
