"Unimpressed with carers"

About: Waroona Nursing Home

(as a relative),

I visit my parent in the Waroona Nursing Home on weekends. If my parent is in a fall out chair they like to be pushed around outside. The other week my parent wanted to go outside, I told them it was hot and they said just a little walk. So we went outside. We were out there probably 5 minutes at the most and my parent said it was hot so we went back inside. I had noticed that their legs were a little red again so I put some cream on them (which made them look really red, as it always does).

When I went back up recently my parent told me that they shouldn't go outside any more as the sun is causing their legs to go red and getting sunburnt around the neck. I just said who said that. My parent named two of the green shirt carers. I am not real impressed with this, what do they think I am, an idiot? I would not put my parent in the sun to get sunburnt. If anyone should be worried about the sun, it is myself, as I get skin Lupus. I feel these carers need to speak to me, not my parent or keep their nose out of someone else's business. The doctor has said that it is good for my parent to go for a walk outside and get some Vitamin D. I feel all these carers etc. are doing is causing my parent to have anxiety attacks as they know I get wild. I did speak to one of the green shirt carers and they said that they noticed that my parent's legs were redder after they had come out of the sun. I just said no it wasn't it was because I put cream on their legs.
