"Not listened to"

About: Moyne Aged Care Plus Centre

(as a service user),

I am very concerned that the staff here at Moyne do not, in my opinion, listen to people. I have asked several times for my sheets to be changed and I believe it has not happened.

I can do it myself but the way in which my bed is situated in my room I just can't. I need to know what to do.

Hi listenhh98,

Thank you for sharing your feedback with us once again. As we mentioned previously, we are committed to providing high quality care and services that meet your needs and personal preferences.

Upon sharing your concerns with the management team at Moyne Aged Care Centre, we have been advised that sheets are changed by our staff every week.

However going forward, we have arranged for the Centre Manager to come and speak with you to work out a system that ensures this is being done at a time that is suitable and is in consultation with you.

Please feel free to speak with the Centre Manager about other suggestions you may have or contact our Aged Care Advocate who will ensure your privacy is maintained. Our Aged Care Advocate can be contacted on 1300 069 251 or agedcareadvocate@salvationarmy.org.au.

Kind regards,

Sally

Hi listenhh98,

It is really disappointing to hear that you feel that the team at the Centre do not listen to you and I was sorry to hear that this was your experience.

I was pleased to read that Sally had confirmed that your sheets were being changed regularly and that the Manager was going to approach you to ensure that this was done at a time that was best and convenient for you.

We always strive to deliver a homely environment for our residents and so it is great to receive your feedback and have the opportunity to keep on improving.

Thank You.

Hi, I am still keeping my eye on this and am checking with the staff as to when they will change the sheets etc.

I also take my laundry towels etc., down to the trolleys which are situated in the corridor just down from my room myself, this helps the staff out.
