Wonderful ED staff

(as a relative),

My parent was admitted to Prince of Wales Hospital (POWH) with severe asthma and pneumonia. The staff were wonderful from admission to discharge. RN Tom triaged and admitted my parent. He was extremely friendly and reassuring. The other nurses who cared for my parent that require special mentions are Emily, Sarah and Jan.

There are many staff whose names we didn't catch but were all very caring and professional. On admission, the Emergency Department was jam-packed. The staff of POWH, especially the nursing staff, are to be highly commended on their dedication to safe and compassionate care.

Thank you for taking the time to write to us and share yours & your parent's experience in the Emergency Department at the Prince of Wales Hospital. We hope that your parent is now recovered from their illness and much improved in their health. We are delighted to read your glowing comments in recognition of our Emergency Department nursing staff. We are so happy to read that your relative was treated with the highest standards of compassionate and safe care.

We encourage all of our staff to strive to deliver the highest standards in patient care and your words and observations of our Emergency Nursing team reflect how care, respect and empathy are so important in all aspects of our care. We will make sure that your kind words of appreciation are shared with Tom, Emily, Sarah and Jan.

We are reassured to read that your parent's recent visit to our Emergency Department was a positive experience and that your relative received timely care & treatment. We are very proud that all our staff focus on delivering patient-centered, respectful and compassionate care. We too congratulate Tom and the Emergency Department team and thank them for the vital work they do in delivering outstanding emergency care to our patients in their greatest time of need.
