"Poor care of an at-risk young adult"

My adult child attended Casey Hospital for a pre-arranged urgent appointment with the CATT services and left more distressed than when they arrived. I believe my child is now afraid that there is no psychiatric support for them if they experience another crisis.

The Psychiatric Registered Nurse my child was reviewed by, made them feel belittled and refused to undertake the planned actions that the Psych team at another hospital had advised. Luckily for my child, they have support outside the health care system, but I despair for those lacking such support. I feel the clinician they saw needs to have a good hard look at themselves and manage their professionalism to ensure they do no further harm to the vulnerable people they are there to help.
