So many of our experiences in life are coloured by the glasses that we choose to wear. I love life, and I choose to wear golden glasses and clothe myself in a great attitude every day.
Regardless of this, I will forever be in awe my experience at the Day Procedure Unit in Bunbury Regional Hospital. From admission to discharge, the friendliness and professionalism was second to none, with coffee, sandwiches and great conversation during recovery. I am humbled by these kind acts of service from staff who somehow manage the caseload of a busy unit so well.
The surgical team, specialist, doctor, anaesthetist and nurses were just faultless in their teamwork. I contrast this with my recent visit to Africa to see my Dad in hospital where his window on the third story above a busy walkway was propped open with half a brick, and there was no running water in the taps and only a broken chair for me to sleep on by his bedside at night.
So I am grateful for what we have in Australia and wanted to express that through this story. In some way it was my Best Day Ever. Thank you.
"Best Day Ever."
