About: Ambulance Victoria Maroondah Hospital / Emergency Department

(as the patient),

I thought I was about to have a heart attack, due to a weird feeling in my chest, and also had been having chest pains leading up to it. I panicked and called the ambulance and they were there within 5 minutes or less.

They made me feel very comfortable and took me completely seriously. From the first interaction to every single nurse and doctor I interacted with, it was friendly, comforting and professional. They didn't find anything wrong with my heart, so it seems like it was more of an anxiety-induced panic attack, but they never made me feel like I'd done anything wrong or wasted their time.

Thank you so much for taking the time to share these comments regarding your experience both with the Ambulance service and also when you were at Maroondah Hospital.

It will give me great pleasure to share your comments with the leaders at Ambulance Victoria and also the doctors and nurses at Maroondah so they get to see the impact they have each and every day. This is why we provide the services we do, so we can support people firstly through diagnosing and treating the condition, but also link people up with support systems so you can then look after yourself!

Take care of yourself and please don't hesitate to access our services in an emergency situation. Both Ambulance Victoria and the Emergency Department staff at any Eastern Health hospital are here to care and support you.
