About: Geraldton Hospital

(as the patient),

Recently, I had a small procedure at Geraldton Regional Hospital (GRH) performed by Dr. Indrajith and the Medical Team. From the very moment I arrived and was greeted at the Reception Desk in Pre-Admission, time waiting to leaving the hospital; I was met with nothing but friendliness, respect and professional care. 

I had an extended stay in Recovery and not one complaint could be given to any of the amazing nurses. I was given great sandwiches after procedure to a surprise roast lamb lunch and dessert.  It was a wonderful meal (and I am very particular). Every one of the hospital staff were extremely well trained in my opinion and I felt so very well respected and treated. 

This is not my first small procedure nor visit to this hospital. I feel coming from Perth and having been hospitalised numerous times that GRH is every bit as equal to city hospitals. I cannot commend or recommend this hospital and staff that cared for me any more highly.

Thank you for sharing your story with us, it was wonderful to read that the care you received from pre-admission to discharge was professional and of a high calibre and that the team were friendly and respectful. It certainly takes a team to provide health care to our community. Your feedback reinforces our commitment to providing high quality person centred care and putting our consumers first in all that we do and I will ensure that your feedback is passed on.

I know our team in the kitchen will be so pleased to receive your kind words as they work really hard to ensure patients' meals are nutritious and tasty. Food is an integral part of the healing process for our patients and a significant aspect of overall health and well-being. The Geraldton Hospital also runs taste-testing sessions where we ask members of the community and our staff to taste-test the food that is provided to our patients and it's great to hear from your feedback that all of the work the team have been doing behind the scenes is paying off.
