"Staff's supportive nature"

About: Fiona Stanley Hospital / Cardiology, CCU and Ward 4D

(as the patient),

Recently I was booked in to have a double bypass. I was scared out of my mind but the staff in day surgery made me feel somewhat comfortable whilst in their care.

Then I was wheeled away to theatre. I was awake when they started putting all the cannulas things in my arm. They put a mask over my face & asked me to take deep breathes. Then I awoke in ICU briefly that I recall.

From there I was wheeled up to Ward 4C & all the amazing nurses went above & beyond to make sure I was comfortable, pain-free & stress-free. Without the staff's supportive nature I don't think I would have battled through as well as I did.

Thank you all for your amazing services.

Dear songthrushss66,

Thank you for your kind words and appreciation of our teams across Day Surgery, ICU and 4C. It is heartening to read that you found the staff who cared for you compassionate and supportive.

We are proud of the level of commitment our staff bring to their roles and they are always delighted when they receive recognition from patients and their families. I wish you well with your ongoing recovery from surgery.

Kind regards,

Neil Doverty
