"My parent's care"

My parent is 100 years old and has recently been transferred here, where they are much happier now than where they were before. Their health seems to have improved too.

However, of a recent stroke and other health issues, my parent has exhibited some challenging and uncharacteristic behaviours. I live interstate, and I rang up to ask about their care. I spoke to the Nurse Unit Manager, who was very warm, friendly and informative. She explained the steps they had taken to improve my parent's health outcomes and quality of life. She asked questions about my parent and their life so that they could do as much as possible to understand them and meet their needs. She provided examples of ways that they have responded to my parent's problems and adapted routines to suit their preferences.

It was very reassuring to know that the staff there seem very well trained, and also that they will take the time to make my parent comfortable and happy, including taking them outside each afternoon, where they enjoy the lovely gardens. I feel less anxious about my parent now.
