The staff member I dealt with, in my opinion, has no knowledge in breastfeeding and lactation. They told me to stop breastfeeding my toddler since I am pregnant and the toddler will steal nutrients from the foetus. They also implied that by the time the baby is birthed, there will be no milk left for the infant as the toddler will have used it all.
I feel extremely frustrated that this sort of 'advice' is shared with a mother who might not be aware of the possibility of breastfeeding through pregnancy, and beyond with tandem feeding.
This staff member has often made comments regarding breastfeeding that I believe goes against the Australian Breastfeeding Association and the World Health Organisation. I feel they need to be properly educated in breastfeeding practices.
