"Amazing maternity ward"

About: Busselton Health Campus

(as the patient),

We were admitted late afternoon on a weekend. We were first looked after by Emma, who took us to our suite and got us set up and made us feel at home.

Later on, she was replaced by Claire, our angel, in our opinion. She took us through the night, I feel she looked after us as if we were hers. She made us feel relaxed and cared for. I remember thinking how amazingly lucky we were to be in a beautiful suite, being looked after so well. She helped my spouse through the worst of their contractions with a gentle touch, and when it all got too much, she organised an epidural quickly and quietly. That was administered by Miles, who drove all the way from Margaret River in the middle of the night. Then she watched over us as we caught a little sleep.

We said goodbye to Claire when her shift ended early the next morning and she was replaced by Florentina and Sarah. They worked so professionally, quietly, getting things done and making things right for the next step, while calming and soothing both of us. When the baby came they were invaluable. The baby was delivered by Dr Ray who has been a rock throughout the pregnancy.

Over the next two days, we were cared for by a number of 'Angels' who drifted through our semi-conscious state making sure we and the baby were fine. All of them caring, all of them amazing in our opinion.

There was Sandy, Katie, Martha, Jan and Barbara. These women do more than just a job, they care. I believe they care for you as your own mother would and I feel we owe them a massive debt of gratitude.

Dear millimeterhe77,

Congratulations on the birth of your new baby.

Thank you so very much for taking the time to provide the staff at the maternity ward with your beautiful words. I have passed on your kind words to the entire medical and midwifery staff.

We pride ourselves in giving the women and their families in our community the best maternity care possible and it is so rewarding to hear that we are achieving this. Our whole team believe that it is a great privilege to be a part of this very special time and we consider ourselves lucky to have been able to share your journey with you.

We wish you and your family many more wonderful memories in the future.

Kind Regards,

Marnie Bilsby
