"Our positive experience in Block A, Ward 4B"

About: Royal Perth Hospital / Short Stay Surgical Unit Ward 4A & Day Surgery Unit Ward 4B/4G

(as a relative),

I just wanted to write to say how much my parent's spouse and I appreciate the high level of care we have experienced in Royal Perth Hospital in Block A, Ward 4B.

My elderly parent had to undergo a procedure. Having suffered several strokes recently, being in hospital so much has been an uncomfortable and anxiety-filled time for us all. I believe my parent was extremely nervous in lead-up to their procedure, and nearly didn’t come in at all. However, despite an unknown waiting time, we have felt we were in very good hands, and I wanted to personally say thank you, generally to all the staff we met in Block A, Ward 4B, who have all presented in a uniformly, friendly, professional and calming manner, all of which I am sure has made my parent (and their spouse and I) feel significantly reassured that they would be alright.

Thank you to the wonderful team managing and working in Block A, Ward 4B, including Christa, Kylie, Amane, Grace, Chris, Erin, Natalie, Kerry, Janelle, Chrissy, Ruth, Sue and Edna.

In the time we were there, I was able to witness and begin to comprehend what seemed to be the difficulty and pressures of managing such a complex ward and all it’s moving parts, concurrent with the unpredictable nature of daily, hourly and even moment to moment need.

We really appreciate all the efforts you go to, the way you work so well together in an interconnected fashion, including having instituted a “Coms” nurse to help reduce and mitigate the anxiety, vulnerability and displacement that I believe patients and family so often feel when they come into a hospital 😌.

Warm regards and thanks to you all, and thank you all for doing such a splendid job together. 🙏👏 Service is its own reward, but I do hope you all win on the lotto! 😎❤️
