"Mental health crisis"

About: St George Mental Health Service

(as the patient),

In mental health crisis. I went to St George Community Mental Health, was admitted to the hospital for 1 week in recently, discharged for follow up with St George Community Mental Health.

Now, I believe St George Mental Health thinks I am not risky enough to be eligible for more help. Only willing to offer 1 appointment with nurse and 1 appointment with psychiatrist out of goodwill.

I am really desperate to get more help!

Dear Ms Angela Karooz

Thanks for your reply. As for your suggestion of contacting St George Community mental health services manager, I believe that manager is Jeanine Smith. I tried requesting to talk to Jeanine but a nurse of St George mental health told me no. What can I do now?

Looking forward to more advice.

Dear Ms Angela Karooz

I have contacted Ms Andrea Barrington as suggested. Ms Andrea Barrington has facilitated the meeting between me, Ms Jeanine, Service Manager, St George Community Mental Health and Mr David, Acting Clinical Operations Manager, St George Mental Health. Ms Jeanine and Mr David had advised that I could contact the Acute care team and go to ED if needed.

As my mental health worsened, I called Acute care team and been advised to go to ED. I went to ED in St George Hospital, been denied admission but given temazepam. I had an appointment with Acute care team the next day. Recently, I had the scheduled appointment with the psychiatrist. The psychiatrist told me that I am not eligible to receive ongoing treatment from St George public mental health, if I present to public hospital, I am likely to receive the same response. Currently, I feel there's no more planned support from St George public mental health.

I feel my mental health keeps worsening, I really need more help. What options do I have?

Looking forward to your advice

Thanks
