"Brain surgery and recovery"

About: Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital SMHS Rehabilitation In The Home (RITH)

(as a relative),

The brain operation team were amazing and worked professionally on my spouse's severe brain tumour. All staff at Charlie's were supportive and referred the team from South Guildford Rehabilitation in the Home (RITH).

The South Guildford RITH team included an Occupational Therapist and Brain Retrainer, Speech Pathologist, Social Worker, Dietician, Physio and a Therapist supporting my spouse's memory loss and word recovery.

When my spouse got discharged from Charlie's after a major brain operation, they needed major brain recovery and other basic support. In the six weeks, they have all supported my spouse to improve their physical and brain retraining for our next challenge of radiation and chemotherapy.

I support the amazing service and each amazing specialist that supported my spouse through the existing challenge.

Thank you to all the teams involved that are valued individually.

Dear marchcz48,

Thank you for taking the time to let us know about the excellent care your spouse received as a patient at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital. It is always good to hear about the positive impact that coordinated care has on our patient and their families. We are fortunate to have a team of dedicated staff who are committed to ensuring the best possible outcomes for patients and I will share your lovely feedback with all of those responsible for your care.

Recovering from brain surgery can be very challenging for patients and their families so we are genuinely appreciative that you have taken the time to give such positive feedback.

I hope that your spouse’s health has improved.

Kind regards

Amanda McKnight
