"Thank you Busselton ED staff"

About: Busselton Health Campus / Emergency Department

(as the patient),

I had to visit the Busselton Emergency Department (ED) recently and again last week which resulted in an overnight stay. On both occasions, I was treated quickly, compassionately and with great empathy for my situation. I was offered water, food, blankets, a hand to hold and was constantly attended to with doctor and nurses doing everything possible to help me.

I was then transferred to another hospital's ED which, I felt was a stark contrast. No attention, no compassion, no care factor and was not offered even a drink of water for 6 hours.

Thank you Busselton ED staff.

Dear foxtroteh45,

Thank you for taking the time to share your positive experience at Busselton ED. I’m very sorry to hear that you were unwell on a number of occasions, but it’s pleasing to hear that you were treated with compassion and that you felt well cared for by our team. What a shame this didn’t translate when you transferred. A hand to hold can do wonders, and I’ll be sure to pass your experience on to our team so that they know that these small actions made a positive difference to your experience.

I hope that you are well on the way to recovery.

Holly Barton,

A/Clinical Nurse Manager

Busselton Emergency Department
